About The Position

The Maintenance Technician at Sunset Village MHC is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance to ensure the physical integrity of the community. This role involves conducting home repairs, maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of community grounds, facilities, and utility systems, while providing excellent customer service to residents.

Requirements

• Hard-working, trustworthy, and reliable with a focus on customer service.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance techniques and repair work.
• Ability to endure seasonal temperatures and work outdoors.
• Valid driver's license.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance.
• Proficient in operating hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to provide legible written reports.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to respond to community needs during non-business hours.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of maintenance experience (preferred).
• 1 year of mechanical knowledge (preferred).
• Willingness to travel 25% (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensure community is presentable and adheres to curb appeal standards.
• Maintain common area lawns and perform lawn care services as necessary.
• Clear debris from streets and common areas.
• Complete minor repairs to rental homes and facilities.
• Maintain facilities such as clubhouse and community offices.
• Ensure vacant sites are clear, safe, neat, and clean.
• Complete checklists of physical condition of community or sites before and after resident occupancy.
• Assist manager with supervision of service contractors.
• Assist manager with organizing Capital Improvement needs.
• Regularly inspect playground area and recreational amenities for proper operation.
• Remove snow from community streets and other areas as applicable.
• Perform water testing and maintenance duties related to well-water and sewer systems.
• Follow safety procedures while performing duties.
