About The Position
The SYEP provides work experience, job readiness skills, and training needed to gain full time employment. Youth accepted into the SYEP shall be temporary employees as provided for under the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation’s Employee Personnel Manual (EPM) and subject to the EPM’s provisions unless otherwise provided for in these Guidelines. The SYEP will pay a minimum wage not to exceed a total of 40-hour work week within the five (5) week program up to a maximum of 200 hours. An employer may extend the employee beyond these maximum requirements, but the SYEP shall not pay for cost resulting from that extension. Follow The Colville Tribe’s Indian Preference in Hiring Policy; (Preference will be given to High School Junior and Seniors);
Requirements
- Must be a high school student ages 14-18 on the first day of employment
- Provide proof of Certification of Indian Blood, Birth Certificate, Social Security card, State ID, School ID or License
- Must attend workshops to participate
- Must be age 14 – 18 on or before start date (06.29.2026)
