The SYEP provides work experience, job readiness skills, and training needed to gain full time employment. Youth accepted into the SYEP shall be temporary employees as provided for under the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation’s Employee Personnel Manual (EPM) and subject to the EPM’s provisions unless otherwise provided for in these Guidelines. The SYEP will pay a minimum wage not to exceed a total of 40-hour work week within the five (5) week program up to a maximum of 200 hours. An employer may extend the employee beyond these maximum requirements, but the SYEP shall not pay for cost resulting from that extension.
