The Unit Apprentice at Camp Redwood Glen is responsible for supporting the Unit Leader and Cabin Leaders in ensuring that each camper's needs are met. This role involves supervising children, promoting a safe and enjoyable camping experience, and assisting in various camp activities and programs.

  • Assist with supervision for the children assigned to the cabin, prioritizing their health and safety.
  • Encourage camper participation in all aspects of the camping program according to the daily schedule.
  • Assist with cabin devotions and enforce rules for safety and enjoyment.
  • Refer ongoing camper misbehaviors to the Unit Leader.
  • Assist in evening and special programs as requested, including participation in skit nights and talent shows.
  • Plan and implement evening cabin devotions as needed.
  • Assist with rainy-day activities in the cabin area.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the cabin and report maintenance issues to the Facility Manager.
  • Interact with all campers to foster a quality camping experience.
  • Exhibit Christ-like conduct and report any suspected child abuse issues to the Unit Leader.
  • Assist the Assistant Camp Director with any other duties as requested.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • General skills in working with children.
  • Good moral character.
  • A personal and growing relationship with the Lord.
  • Previous camping experience either as a camper or as a staff member.
  • Weekly salary starting at $360
