About The Position Must successfully complete drug screening and a background check Pay: $17.50 per hour The Gas Meter Painter is a temporary, summer position responsible for cleaning and painting gas meter sets for corrosion mitigation. Key responsibilities include: Works under the direction of Gas Supervisor, to clean and paint residential meters, regulator stations, and industrial meter locations in assigned area to meet code requirements for corrosion mitigation. Paints assigned gas meter sets and up to 3' of customer fuel line. Expected to paint a minimum of three to four meters per hour and 1,000 meters over the course of the assignment. Must meet or exceed daily quota while performing quality work. Understand and follow all gas safety rules and DOT safety requirements. Qualifications A high school diploma or GED equivalent, required. Candidates enrolled in a technical school majoring in Electrical, HVAC, A.C. Electricity, Trade Construction, Welding, Highway Construction, Industrial Pipefitting, Machining, or Maintenance Mechanic is preferred. Must successfully complete Meter Painting training and testing. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have a good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Must have reliable transportation. Additional Information Candidates must be at least 18 years of age Must successfully complete drug screening and a background check. Required to work summer schedule Monday through Friday (typically 40 hours per week).
