About The Position

We are seeking a knowledgeable, adaptable, and dependable Summer Substitute Facilitator to support high school STEM labs during our summer program. This individual will step in as needed to maintain instructional continuity, supervise lab activities, and ensure a safe, structured, and engaging lab environment. The ideal candidate is confident leading high school students in hands-on STEM settings and can effectively implement established lesson plans and lab procedures.

Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt instruction as needed

Professionalism, reliability, and punctuality
Comfort facilitating hands-on STEM lab environments

Nice To Haves

Degree in a STEM field or education preferred.
Valid teaching certificate preferred but not required.
Experience working with high school students strongly preferred.
Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience highly desirable.
Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and student management best practices.

Responsibilities

Implement facilitator-prepared lesson plans and facilitate STEM lab activities as assigned.
Supervise high school interns in lab settings, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and program expectations.
Maintain a productive, structured, and respectful lab environment.
Provide clear instruction and guidance during hands-on experiments, projects, and technical activities.
Monitor intern behavior and maintain strong lab management.
Communicate effectively with program leadership regarding attendance, lab concerns, and intern needs.
Complete required documentation and reports as necessary.
