About The Position

The Colby College Libraries are hiring a library assistant to work during the summer. We are seeking a student worker who has excellent customer service skills to provide welcoming, courteous and knowledgeable service to library users.

Requirements

• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and during finals

Responsibilities

• Provide welcoming, courteous and knowledgeable service to library users at Miller and Bixler libraries, including check-out/check-in library materials such as books, journals, reserve items, and equipment; answering basic informational, directional, and library policy questions; helping patrons locate materials in the stacks; shelving library materials, and assisting with basic stacks maintenance; and assisting the department in opening and closing the library
• Adhere to library policy and procedure
• Perform additional duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
• Assist with shelving items, pulling requested items, daily maintenance of stacks in Miller and Bixler libraries
