The Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences is seeking an Instructor to teach an online 3-credit undergraduate course, “Introduction to Oceanography”, during the 2023 summer session, which runs from 6/26/23-7/21/23. The goal of this course is to introduce undergraduate students to the essential aspects of oceanography, with emphasis on “big picture” processes and the interdisciplinary nature of oceanography. This course will examine the geological, physical, chemical and biological disciplines (at a basic level) as they apply to ocean-related processes. This course is offered in two all-online sessions (winter/summer) and periodically as a hybrid format (winter), where knowledge of oceanographic lessons/techniques are employed in the field for one class per week. This is a co-adjunct position, and is subject to enrollment.
