Summer School Teachers (Middle School)
About The Position
Come work with us this summer at Hixson STEM Summer Academy + The Arts! This program will integrate STEAM learning to allow students the opportunity to explore their passion for science, technology, engineering, and math. In addition, enhancing the program further with the Arts, to promote skills such as communication, collaboration, and creativity. We are currently looking for summer school teachers. Responsibilities include planning and preparing for daily lessons and activities, building strong relationships with students and staff, and fostering a positive learning environment. Primary Objective: To provide students enrolled in summer school with an engaging and enriching classroom experience. Each summer school teacher must have a demonstrated track record of propelling student academic growth and mastery in public schools.
Requirements
- Appropriate certification required
- Teaching experience
- Consideration will be given to staff available for the entire summer school session (exceptions for emergencies only)
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans
- Inspiring students to expand their sphere of knowledge, and to grow in ways they were not able to during the past school year
