The Eastchester School District is seeking reliable and responsible individuals to work as School Bus Attendants for the 2025 Summer School program. This position involves supervising students on the school bus during morning and afternoon routes to ensure that bus rules are followed and that students are safe. The role includes assisting in loading and unloading students at bus stops, providing safety instructions, and helping school bus drivers with emergency procedures.

Supervision of students on the school bus to ensure bus rules are followed and students are safe.
Assist in loading and unloading of students at bus stops.
Provide school bus safety instructions to students when necessary.
Assist school bus drivers in creating written emergency evacuation plans.
Assist in conducting required school bus emergency drills.
Take attendance on each school bus shift.
Assign seats for students on the school bus.
Write and submit student conduct reports or incident reports as required.
Become familiar with District school bus routes and stop locations.
Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to pupil transportation.

Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
Required physical performance testing per NY Department of Education regulations.
Attend all required pre-service and Basic monitor Course.
Ability to work effectively and remain patient and caring with elementary school age children.
Ability to establish good working relationships with students, parents, and school personnel.
Ability to take oral and written directives.
