About The Position

Primary Objective: This position will assist the Summer School Principal and Assistant Principal with the management of the Summer School Office. To provide the necessary clerical responsibilities required for the administration of the school district in order to assure the smooth, efficient operation of the school office. Works to create a welcoming office experience and build positive relationships with all staff, students, parents, and other visitors (Your presence, communication, and welcome will work to serve as a first impression to the many people we serve). Prepares, composes, transcribes and/or types documents, correspondence, reports, newsletters, schedules, etc. for the purpose of communicating information to school and District personnel, students, parents, and the public Maintains confidentiality when working with private material concerning the District or individuals Maintains files for supervisor(s) and/or department(s) Determines the need of inquiries (mail, email, phone, and office visits) provides information or direction and resolves issues from knowledge of District policies and procedures, or refers to appropriate party Receives visitors into the school office, ascertains the purpose of the visit, and furnishes the information or directs to proper person Proofreads, edits, and prepares material for printing, approval, and distribution Initiates contact and transacts business with outside agencies and parties Prepares and distributes related reports, and maintains enrollment databases appropriate to the specific area of responsibility Develops organized and efficient systems to meet building/department needs, establishes and maintains files, and assists in monitoring building/department budgets Assists with ordering office supplies; assists with inventory of office/department supplies Processes mail, may schedule appointments, and may make arrangements for travel for staff Operates standard office equipment, is proficient in word processing, basic spreadsheet skills, and Google Applications. Will utilize student information system and budget databases.
