About The Position

The Summer Scholar position in Engineering at StandardAero offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the aviation industry. Interns will collaborate with experienced engineers and support Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operations, contributing to various engineering projects over a 10-12 week internship during the summer of 2025.

Requirements

• Completed engineering courses and education experience at the Junior level or above.
• Field of study must be Mechanical or Aerospace.
• Computer Aided Design, Computer Programming, Data Querying experience.
• Knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel, Project, and Word.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be a US Citizen due to government contracts.

Nice To Haves

• Some education in or practical experience in the application of process improvement techniques such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, etc.
• A strong desire to learn and be a contributing member of a team.
• Strong self-motivation and organization skills.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with existing production engineering teams to support MRO operations.
• Develop repairs for engine components.
• Reprocess cost evaluation and recommendations for reduction.
• Develop new engine component technology.
• Write technical reports and procedures.
• Coordinate process improvement initiatives.
• Create electronic manual revisions.
• Perform engine performance analysis.
• Assist in engine and accessories troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members throughout operations.
• Other projects as assigned.
