Writopia Lab is an award-winning 501(c)3 nonprofit that runs writing workshops for kids and teens ages 4 to 18. Since its formation in New York City in 2007, Writopia Lab has grown into a nationwide community of young writers. Our mission is to foster joy, literacy, and critical thinking in children and teens from all backgrounds through creative writing. We create a safe and engaging space for writers at all stages of the writing process, and we aim to provide the creative inspiration, individual attention, and intellectual environment that may not be available to them at school. Impact Writopia Lab works with thousands of young writers every year — in our Labs, in Title-1 public schools, and in partnership with community based organizations around the country, as well as online. As a member of the registration team, your work will have a direct impact on how we do our work and how our kids and teens experience the joy, literacy, and critical thinking that are core to our mission. You will have the support of our amazing registration team who will work closely with you in the first weeks as you learn our registration methods. Who You Are If you are a resourceful team player who is great at following up on issues, interacting with new and returning clients, and managing schedules, this job may be for you. You are someone who enjoys collaboration with a team, who is able to work well with the team, and who values the members’ input. You know that communication is key and how you deliver a message is as important as the message, whether you’re answering questions from families or kids, trouble-shooting issues with the team, or communicating with the staff. Keeping track of details and resolving issues are high priorities to you and you’re able to follow through until an issue is resolved. You want to do the best job possible for yourself and the team.
