About The Position

The Summer Program Assistant at the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester is a full-time, seasonal position for eight weeks, from June 15th through August 14th, including one week of training. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with youth, providing a supportive environment where children can grow and achieve their goals. The assistant will work 8-hour days, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and must have flexibility and reliable transportation. This entry-level position involves assisting with fun and engaging social, recreational, and educational activities for children aged 8-18, primarily in the Athletics and Teen Room, as well as other areas as needed. The Boys & Girls Club of Worcester is a nonprofit organization dedicated to youth development, aiming to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need them most, to become responsible, productive, and caring citizens through diverse programs and services.

Requirements

• High School Degree or equivalent required.
• A minimum of one year experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
• All applicants will be required to pass a criminal offender record information check (CORI) and a national background check.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certifications, preferred, but not required.
• Concussion Prevention certification, preferred, but not required.
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish & English) but not required.

Responsibilities

• May oversee special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other Clubhouse activities as necessary.
• May consult with parents concerning member and Clubhouse issues.
• Perform light cleaning and assume other duties as assigned.
