About The Position

The SGPR Summer Fellowship is a 12-week full-time training program designed for Spring 2025 graduates, providing hands-on experience in public relations and communications. This paid fellowship allows participants to work alongside the SGPR team, gaining foundational skills necessary for entry-level roles in the industry. The program runs from June 2nd to August 22nd, 2025, and offers the potential for permanent employment as an Account Coordinator, contingent on performance and company needs.

Requirements

• Must be a Spring (May or June) 2025 graduate.
• Ability to work out of the NY or LA office 2x/week on a predetermined schedule.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Self-starter who can manage projects autonomously.
• Creative thinker with a passion for public relations.
• Efficient worker who can maintain high standards under tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Experience or coursework in public relations, communications, or related fields.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and influencer marketing.

Responsibilities

• Join one of our teams working across various client industries including retail & beauty, consumer technology, social impact, and wellness.
• Attend training sessions on media list building, reporter relationships, pitch crafting, influencer marketing, and public speaking.
• Build and develop media relationships through personalized pitching efforts to reporters, editors, and influencers.
• Source and curate relevant media and influencer lists for future events and storytelling opportunities.
• Organize digital assets, attend weekly calls, take notes, and perform ad hoc tasks as needed.
• Monitor client placements and mentions through search engines, alerts, and social media.
• Participate in virtual brainstorms to create innovative shareworthy moments for clients.
• Contribute to drafting and writing media materials for brands.
