About The Position

Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School seeks two qualified Registered Nurses to support Extended School Year (ESY) programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
• Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a School Nurse by t he Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (MA DESE), preferred
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Massachusetts
• Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• 1 to 3 years of experience in school, pediatric or public health nursing
• Summer program experience

Responsibilities

• Manages a comprehensive school health summer program consistent with the Massachusetts guidelines, regulation and statutes governing nursing and school health.
• Carries out communicable disease prevention and infection control based on current guidelines for universal precautions, prevention of blood borne pathogens exposure and hazardous medical waste disposal.
• Provides medically prescribed interventions, including medication administration (based on state regulations) and provides care to ill children on a daily basis.
• Provides first aid to injured children and staff and triage to appropriate health care providers.
• Documents in the electronic health system.
• Implements individualized health care plans for students when needed.
• Is current in health knowledge trends, attends continuing education activities related to current clinical knowledge and professional issues.
• Other nursing duties as assigned.
