About The Position

The Summer Maintenance Worker assists with general maintenance and upkeep of company buildings and grounds. This position performs a variety of basic tasks including painting, minor repairs, and general maintenance projects as assigned. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

Requirements

  • Less than high school education.
  • Previous maintenance, construction, or general labor experience is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English and fill out paperwork completely and accurately.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of volume.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic hand-tool knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with painting projects, including surface preparation and clean-up
  • Perform minor building repairs and general maintenance tasks
  • Assist with basic facility upkeep and outdoor maintenance as needed
  • Use hand tools and basic equipment safely and appropriately
  • Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to supervision
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
