About The Position

The Lift/Alpine Slide/Inflatable Slide Attendant assists properly ticketed guests in loading and unloading to and from chair lifts, alpine slide, and Spider Monkey inflatable slide while maintaining safe conditions in and around lift terminals, slide areas, and inflatable slide attractions, and ensuring positive guest relations with each customer. The Lift Operations Department offices and locker room are located in the Operations/Events Building in the upper village area adjacent to the Alder parking lot. Summer lift staff report directly to the lift or attraction scheduled.

Requirements

  • Skill in taking general instructions and working safely around machinery.
  • Ability to provide accurate information and maintain a good attitude during stressful situations.
  • Ability to speak clearly and communicate thoroughly with customers and co-workers.
  • Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as requested by management.
  • Must be in good physical health with no restrictions.
  • Subject to WSI’s Alcohol and Controlled Substance Abuse Policy based on the nature of the position and related duties.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds routinely.
  • Able to work while standing for extended periods of time up to 8 hours.
  • Able to engage in repetitive body motion involving upper body torque during the loading and unloading of guests, sleds, and bikes to and from chairs.
  • Ability to work under varying weather conditions, often extreme in nature.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload passengers to and from chair lifts or attractions in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Check each guest for proper ticket by use of ticket scanner.
  • Clean slide every morning and set up corral area for slide.
  • Load and unload sleds and bikes from lifts and storage racks.
  • Give instructions to slide participants and start them in a safe progression.
  • Keep slide and lift shack areas clean and orderly, promoting safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist in daily lift and sled inspections.
  • Promote positive guest relations with riders and co-workers.
  • Serve as alternate Lift Operator as needed.
  • Gain thorough understanding of all aspects of Whitefish Mountain Resort in order to function as an information source for guests.
  • Ask questions of supervisor and/or co-workers for clarification of procedures or knowledge.
  • Meet company requirements for appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Required to be in uniform and name tag daily.
  • May work lifts 1, 2, 6, and 10 as scheduled.
