About The Position

To lead effectively and provide support to the instructional process by creating a culture of high expectations and collegiality and directing site operations, services and staff while complying with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies under the direction of the Director of Schools

Requirements

Master's Degree required
Current Tennessee administration certification required
Demonstrates leadership in working with teams and in organizing and planning
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in both writing and speaking
Demonstrates ability to relate well to school officials, parents, students and others
Ability to accept responsibility and work efficiently and effectively
Work as a team member in a dynamic, complex environment and organize time and workload effectively
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of staff and appropriate stakeholders
Establish and maintain effective, positive working relationships with all school stakeholders - students, parents, staff, faculty, district personnel and community members
Effectively perform job duties with minimal supervision
Direct staff to ensure maximum performance and meet school and district goals
Demonstrate problem solving abilities

Responsibilities

Serve as the instructional leader for the faculty, staff and students
Analyze and utilize multiple sources of data to drive instructional and other appropriate decisions
Create a culture in which all students and personnel are celebrated
Supervise students' transportation, conduct, discipline, accidents, attendance, records and reports and communicate appropriately with parents/guardians and staff regarding each of these areas.
Administer discipline plan and code of conduct and ensure due process for all students
Contact families regarding absences from the summer learning camp
Develop appropriate schedule including lunch, physical activity, and "play" times for camp classrooms
Assure that facilities are adequately maintained and meet district expectations for safety and cleanliness through coordination with appropriate FSD personnel and resources. Ensure that facilities are left in a clean and orderly manner and all equipment and materials used by summer learning camp are removed at the conclusion of the camp.
Ensure innovative, research-based instructional practices are employed by all who serve students to effectively meet the diverse needs of all learners (differentiated instruction, instructional technology integration, STEM, small group instruction, etc.)
Serve as liaison between summer learning camp teachers and district personnel for support in instructional areas (instructional technology, special education, literacy and instructional materials, assessment)
Monitor academic and behavioral progress and success through administered assessments and other data
Work with Food and Culinary Services department to provide excellent food service to students and staff
Work with Morning and After Care supervisor to provide a high-quality program during the extended hours of the program
Work with building administrators, custodians, and maintenance personnel to coordinate use and upkeep of facilities used for summer learning camp..
Work with the transportation department to ensure safe, orderly, and timely bus transportation for summer learning camp students as needed.
Adhere to all financial guidelines and procedures according to board policy and state rules and regulations for school finance
Perform all other related duties as assigned by the Director of Schools or designee
