About The Position

Scope of Position: The Summer Lead Server role includes leading the Dining Services Team when serving meals, breaks and beverages in The Great Hall or catering locations throughout WinShape. This position is expected to provide grace-based hospitality to all WinShape guests and staff. Reports to: Team Leader, Dining Services WinShape Foundation is a Biblically-based Christian non-profit organization that seeks to glorify God by creating transformational, Christ-centered experiences for people in every stage of life. We do this through five core ministries that each use scriptural truth to offer summer camp, foster care, team and leader development, college student discipleship, and marriage enrichment. Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 0-2 years of hospitality related work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and work independently and/or with a team, makes quick decisions with confidence, can problem solve with a positive attitude
  • Able to carry and/or lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Requires valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Provides grace-based hospitality to all guests on campus during scheduled meal and break times
  • Creates a warm, welcoming environment through food service focusing on high-quality service
  • Prepares for meals in the Great Hall by setting table with appropriate utensils, linens, centerpieces, glasses, and drink options
  • Ensures all dietary needs are met, acting as a liaison between the guest and the kitchen
  • Oversees meals and breaks in the Great Hall and in various locations on a regular basis
  • Openly communicates with the Food Service team to ensure breaks and meals outside of the Dining Hall are executed with excellence
  • Maintains the stock and cleanliness of self-serve beverage and break areas in the Dining Hall and across the various food service locations on campus
  • Reviews and assigns setup duties as outlined in daily banquet event orders (BEOs) including, but not limited to, setup, breakdown, reset of spaces, and storage of equipment at the conclusion of events
  • Appropriately suggests opportunities for continuous improvement as it relates to this position
