About The Position

The Summer Law Clerk at CROPP (Organic Valley) offers an opportunity for education and training alongside in-house counsel. This role is designed to provide practical legal experience and exposure to various aspects of corporate law within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Requirements

• Completed post-secondary education (college/university).
• Currently enrolled in law school (rising 2L or 3L).
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and responsibilities effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in organic and working with farmers and cooperative business model preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in legal research and preparation of legal and/or department documents.
• Participate in meetings and provide summaries of legal issues.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather information and work cross functionally with the legal department.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations including research on compliance related issues.
• Present summary of work completed and impact on department to senior leadership.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
