About the position

Cleaveland/Price specializes in the design and manufacture of high voltage disconnect switches and switch automation products. The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications. All company operations take place in a modern 218,300 sq. ft. multi-site facility situated on 20 acres east of Trafford, PA. The facility houses virtually all resources for product realization, including engineering, supply chain, parts fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and testing. Fabrication capabilities include laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC punching, and automated bending and forming. The company also utilizes specialized processes, such as MIG and TIG welding, friction welding, silver and tin electroplating, and silver brazing. Responsibilities

  • Comprehend work orders by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and/or parts lists.
  • Prepare for work by gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Helps ensure parts and materials are available to others by only removing from inventory what is needed for the immediate task at hand. Replenishes stock when quantities appear to be low.
  • Assemble a variety of products or sub-assemblies with the use of standard procedures.
  • May perform electrical, mechanical connections/assembly.
  • Regularly utilize hand tools and/or battery powered tools, depending on task and age restrictions.
  • Work may require metal filing, grinding and/or adjusting parts as needed.
  • Perform quality control inspections to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed on equipment and tools.
  • Report errors in product line, drawings and assemblies.
  • Keeps accurate production and quality records, and documents work procedures.
  • Ensure work practices are compliant with all OSHA and ISO standards.
  • Ensure proper utilization of required PPE and task-specific tools and equipment to ensure the highest level of safety for self and others.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, blueprints, drawings, schematics and diagrams.
  • Read a tape measure.
  • Operate a computer to locate inventory parts, drawings, work orders, etc.
  • Operate hand- and air-powered tools required to successfully perform the assigned task (i.e. box staple gun, dead blow hammer, torque wrenches, pliers, measuring scale, tape measure, marking pens, vise, and other related tools).
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks extended periods of time.
