About The Position

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Supervise participants/interns in community based employment situations to ensure that independence, good quality and productivity are achieved.  Provide on-going support, role modeling and regular systematic feedback to participants/interns to ensure appropriate work/social behaviors are developed and nurtured.  As necessary, modify training techniques, job tasks and/or the work environment to successfully manage daily challenges.   Navigate internet browser and Agency data system to record participants’/interns' payable hours and weekly progress reports.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency required, two years of college preferred.
  • Work experience with individuals with developmental, emotional and/or physical impairments preferred.
  • Skills sufficient to work at community sites with considerable independence and to exercise reasonable judgment in handling challenges until supervisory back up is provided.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate with participants, employers, public and staff.
  • Composition skills sufficient to prepare required reports.
  • Transportation available to get to community work sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Individuals who are fluent in American Sign Language is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise participants on the job to ensure that independent, good quality and productive work is being completed.
  • Provide support to participants to ensure appropriate behaviors are being demonstrated during the work shift and break times.
  • As necessary, modify training techniques, tasks and/or the work environment to accommodate various participants’ needs.
  • Supervise participants and facilitate the development/refinement of interpersonal skills during lunch, breaks and transitional periods.
  • Provide regular and systematic feedback to participants regarding their work performance.
  • In order to ensure that participants safety is maintained, exercise reasonable judgment and successfully manage challenges with participants until supervisory guidance is provided.
  • Navigate internet browser and Agency DARTS data storage system in order to record participants’ payable hours and progress notes/reports.
