STATUS: Full-time, 35 hours/week, non-exempt, unclassified JOB LOCATION: Hamilton County Courthouse; 1000 Main St., Cincinnati, OH 45202 HOURS: Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 4:00 pm TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: None PAY GRADE: $18.00/Hour SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No WHO ARE WE: The Hamilton County Clerk of Courts plays an important role in keeping Hamilton County’s justice system running smoothly. Led by Clerk of Courts Pavan V. Parikh and supported by a dedicated team of over 200 employees, the office handles a wide range of essential responsibilities, including: Providing public access to court records throughout Hamilton County. Managing and preserving official court documents for the Common Pleas Court, Domestic Relations Court, Municipal Court, and the State of Ohio First District Court of Appeals. Handling critical operations like court ordered arrests, prisoner transportation, issuance of subpoenas and arrest warrants, evictions, and courtroom security. Issuing Certificates of Title for vehicles. Processing traffic tickets and passport applications for residents. In addition to its role in the justice system, the office also oversees the administration of a public office, managing key areas such as Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, and more. These functions ensure the Clerk’s Office operates efficiently, supports its staff, and provides exceptional service to the community. Every task, whether it’s in administration, a courtroom or issuing a title, is carried out with care to keep Hamilton County’s justice system and public services running seamlessly. Internship Overview A summer internship with the Clerk of Courts Office is your chance to gain hands-on experience in public administration, law, criminal justice, and law enforcement while working with judges, attorneys, prosecutors, police officers, and court staff. This program offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the court system operates and provides valuable insights into both criminal and civil procedures. Internships are available in Communications, Human Resources, Cybersecurity Administration, and Legal. You’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in real-world projects, observe court proceedings, and network with professionals in the justice system. Along the way, you’ll work alongside knowledgeable clerks and gain exposure to the inner workings of public service. We’re looking for ambitious, energetic college students with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. If you’re curious about the justice system, government operations, or public service, this program is a perfect fit! Interns will focus on a specific area based on the office's needs while also participating in programming to gain a broader understanding of the Clerk of Courts' work. The 2026 Summer Internship Program is flexible, running approximately from May through August. Interns work 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and will have the opportunity to observe all departments to experience the full scope of the Clerk's responsibilities. Each intern will handle meaningful tasks and projects designed to develop skills in ownership and project management. This is a paid internship and may also qualify for college credit, depending on your school’s policies. While summer interns are temporary employees and ineligible for paid holidays, vacation, or medical insurance, this program is a fantastic opportunity to build your resume, learn new skills, and make meaningful connections.

Requirements

  • Any student enrolled in either college or graduate school and who is at least 18 years of age is eligible to apply.
  • Successful candidates will receive conditional offers of employment subject to a background check.
