Look no further than the Acuity Inc. Internship Program! The Acuity Inc. Internship Program is a 10–12-week experience (May – August, 40 hours/week) designed to develop high-potential candidates into marketing leaders through hands-on experiences that connect interns’ strengths and interests with the needs of the business. In addition to making an impact through your participation in key projects and transformative processes, you will have an opportunity to mentor and network with leaders throughout Acuity Inc. We prefer that interns only have one or two semesters left in their degree program so they can be considered for our Leadership Program immediately following the completion of the internship. Our Leadership Program is a full-time, entry-level rotational program that allows recent graduates to explore different areas within a functional area. These experiences enable young talent to grow their skill set and network within the company while figuring out what they are passionate about early in their careers. The Supply Chain Strategic Planner Intern will support continuous improvement, operational excellence, and digital transformation initiatives within Acuity Brands Lighting’s Distribution organization. Working alongside engineering, operations, and supply chain teams, the intern will assist with process analysis, data collection, and improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and customer outcomes.

Requirements

  • Some college education
  • Relevant internship, coursework, or project experience
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Coursework or project experience related to Lean, process improvement, or operations
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing or distribution environments
  • Familiarity with data analysis, process mapping, or visualization tools
  • Interest in technology-enabled improvement (automation, digital tools, data)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented operational setting

Responsibilities

  • Support continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives within distribution center operations
  • Assist with documenting current-state processes, workflows, and standard work
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize operational data related to safety, quality, productivity, or sustainability efforts
  • Participate in Lean, Industry 4.0, and digital transformation initiatives through project-based work
  • Support pilot projects involving new processes, equipment, or technology
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and visual materials to communicate analysis and findings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including operations, engineering, and supply chain teams
  • Support additional tactical requests as needed
