About The Position

ISO New England is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England’s ongoing transition to clean energy. We invite students to be part of the mission through our Summer Internship Program - an opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience while contributing to projects that directly impact New England’s current and future power grid.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate or graduate students pursuing relevant majors
• Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
• Passion for energy technology or economics
• Curiosity and drive to contribute to a changing power industry
• Must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program
• Must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Contribute to real-world projects that shape the future of energy in our region
• Participate in professional development workshops and skills training
• Engage in networking opportunities with peers and senior staff
• Attend empowering lunches with executives and subject matter experts
• Join field trips to a mix of generator stations across the region
