The Summer Internship Development Program at Versant Health is designed to help you explore your career, learn our business, and develop as a young professional. Throughout the course of this 8-week summer internship opportunity, you will engage in professional and career development workshops, attend fireside chat series with Versant Health’s senior leaders and complete a capstone project. Versant Health: Making Healthy Vision a Reality for Everyone Scope and Purpose of Position: This internship will support the AVP of Strategy & Analytics in developing data-driven strategies to drive growth for MetLife’s Vision product. The role is well-suited for a detailed-oriented intern with strong analytical skills and interest in leveraging data to analyze the Vision market and generate actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Preferred Fields of Study: Business Analytics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Reporting/Analytics, Statistics and other related degree programs
  • Classification: Current Juniors and Seniors only
  • Required GPA: 3.0 or above
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables and charts, advanced formulas, dashboards, Macros creation
  • Python
  • MATLAB
  • SQL
  • Excellent attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills
  • An interest in data science and artificial intelligence with a desire to learn and grow
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of statistics and mathematical concepts
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and strong attention to detail
  • A genuine interest in helping people live healthier lives, and a desire to learn and grow in this area

Responsibilities

  • Data Consolidation – Streamline the collection and organization of data from multiple sources to create efficiencies and improve how insights are generated.
  • Data Visualization – Support the development of our data analysis presentations, and brainstorm new data visualizations and efficiencies in the process
  • Storytelling – Develop insight-driven narratives from the data to enable more impactful, market-level conversations.
  • Hands-on Experience – This role will be hands on and the intern will work with real data to help support our MetLife sales teams. The intern will have the ability to develop recommendations for how we can optimize a highly manual process today.
