Job Description Summary We are actively recruiting candidates to participate in our 2026 On-site Summer Internship program. This program is 12 weeks in length and will immerse you into the culture and operations of Lonza Portsmouth. The Operational Excellence Intern will support continuous improvement initiatives across a large-scale manufacturing operation in partnership with the OE Manager. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to production environments, real-time performance measurement, and data-driven improvement initiatives. This role is designed to develop foundational skills in Lean Six Sigma, data analysis, and operational performance management while contributing to measurable business improvements. The internship program begins Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and ends on Friday, August 14, 2026. Potential interns must be able to commit to at least 40 hours per week throughout the duration of the summer internship.

Requirements

  • Completion of junior year (typically 90 credits) towards a B.S. degree in a related field
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4) required
  • Must currently be enrolled in BS or MS Academic Program
  • Must be available to begin the Internship on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to contribute as a team member
  • Ability to organize, plan and execute projects
  • Research skills and attention to detail
