We are seeking a Summer Intern for our Measurement, Research and Development -- Behavior and Skills Measurement team. The summer research intern will work with research team members within the Behaviors and Skills Measurement group. Researchers within this group focus on measuring and supporting learner outcomes that lead to education and workplace success. Two projects the summer intern would work on focus on insights into "student voice" - a line of survey research at ACT that provides students' perspectives about current issues in education and workforce research. Topics include high school students' perspectives on occupational credentials and the post-COVID graduate class's perspectives on skills and majors. Summer interns will engage in survey design, data cleaning, descriptive and inferential statistics, qualitative analyses, and reporting of these lines of inquiry. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain research experience working with researchers who have diverse backgrounds in psychology (e.g., educational psychology, I/O psychology) and education. Location: This is a remote internship, based in the United States. Duration: The internship is scheduled to run from Monday June 8, 2026 to Friday August 14, 2026, but can be flexible for the right candidate. Pay Rate: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $23.00. The position is not incentive or benefits eligible. Requirements

  • BA in psychology, educational psychology, or a related field
  • Must be working toward Ph.D. in industrial-organizational psychology, educational psychology, personality psychology, counseling psychology, or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
  • Proficient in statistical software (R preferred)
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Strong people skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Knowledge of: o Educational, Industrial-organizational, or developmental psychology o Psychological assessment o Quantitative and qualitative research methods o Personality theory o Psychometrics o Career planning assessment

Responsibilities

  • Participating in original research studies investigating stakeholder perceptions
  • Designing and launching surveys, including writing items
  • Cleaning and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
  • Writing and editing literature reviews
  • Designing, creating, and revising reports
  • Conducting cognitive lab and focus group studies
