The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) offers a unique opportunity for students to serve as Information Technology Aides during a 12-week Summer Internship Program. This role provides hands-on professional experience, networking opportunities, and training, while exposing interns to a career in public service on Capitol Hill. The internship is designed for students with an academic background in information technology or a related field, allowing them to engage in various IT duties and gain valuable experience in a federal agency setting.

  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining customer hardware and software.
  • Implementing instructions, policies, procedures, and standards for IT programs, services, operations, and customer support.
  • Performing routine procedures for backing up operating systems, applications, and data on networks.
  • Responding to and resolving customer requests for assistance, such as help desk calls for routine issues and problems.
  • Providing customer training on IT systems, applications, and equipment.
  • Assisting with updating/patching desktops and laptops.
  • Addressing inquiries and distributing correspondence.
  • Must be a current student enrolled in an accredited educational institution from high school to graduate level.
  • Must have an academic background in information technology or a related field.
  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age by June 30, 2025.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident seeking citizenship.
  • Students may register for the Transit Subsidy benefit offered by the agency.
