About The Position

The PACCAR Summer Internship Program offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience in the Global Engine team, focusing on software and data engineering. Interns will participate in meetings and events to understand PACCAR's operations and contribute to impactful projects, enhancing their resumes and gaining visibility within the company. The internship culminates in a presentation of accomplishments to peers and senior management.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a BS or advanced degree in a technical (STEM) field.
  • Basic understanding of current diesel exhaust aftertreatment technology (DOC, DPF, SCR & DEF).
  • Basic knowledge of engine control system strategies and CAN networking.
  • Scripting and data analysis experience, preferably with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience with data collection, analysis, and test planning is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with technologies such as Python, Java, C#/++, SQL, SVN, Git, and Jira.
  • Excellent analysis, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support a robust data pipeline ensuring data quality and global accessibility.
  • Develop software solutions for data archival, analysis, and reporting, emphasizing data science methodologies.
  • Maintain software solutions for data analysis, software release, configuration management, and simulation activities.
  • Capture user stories/requirements and write functional and test code.
  • Automate build and deployment processes and perform unit integration and end-to-end testing of software solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and best practices for software documentation and continuously improve these practices.
