Oldcastle APG, Inc.'s 2026 Summer Internship Program is designed to provide a professional environment for undergraduate students to gain real-world experience at a global industry-leading manufacturer of concrete building and hardscape products.The program will run from early June through early August and will provide exposure to valuable learning opportunities within the corporate functions of the organization through assignments, projects, and collaboration. This is the perfect opportunity for undergraduate students to apply their knowledge and creativity to a growth-oriented company with headquarters in Atlanta, GA. The DryMix Innovation Program is a strategic initiative focused on shaping next-generation building materials. As a Summer Intern, you will support high-impact innovation and R D initiatives related to DryMix Infrastructure Products. This role offers hands-on technical experience, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to sustainability and automation within construction materials. The intern will work closely with an Innovation Engineer to define, develop, and execute a focused technical project that supports innovation and related commercialization efforts across Oldcastle APG. A successful intern will gain exposure to real-world innovation challenges and cross-functional decision-making within Oldcastle APG. This internship is designed to provide meaningful professional development and may serve as a pipeline for future full-time opportunities.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field. (Anticipated graduation date: Fall 2026 or Spring 2027)
  • Foundational knowledge of cementitious materials and construction chemistry.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing protocols (ASTM standards are a plus).
  • Comfortable working in laboratory and plant environments while following established safety protocols.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Innovative thinker with an interest in sustainable construction and new materials.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and explore new technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct lab-scale experiments on DryMix formulations, including performance testing and material characterization.
  • Evaluate technical and operational feasibility of prioritized innovation ideas.
  • Assist in market and competitive research to support go-to-market strategy development.
  • Prepare technical summaries, test reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, marketing, and operations teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Develop and present a capstone Special Project to APG leadership with guidance and mentorship from the Innovation Engineering team.
