Department Description The Global Safety, Pharmacovigilance Operations US & Regions organization is responsible for managing the day-to-day safety operations and processing of Human Safety Information (HSI) spanning across all GSK products worldwide. Through this internship, the individual will be immersed in the environment of both US & global pharmacovigilance while contribute to key operational areas of Global Safety. Furthermore, the individual will join the US Pharmacovigilance team to address operational items of case management, aggregate reporting, Risk Management Plans, PV Health Authority interactions and safety leadership priority topics. Our Global Safety, PV Ops US & Regions program also includes valuable PV trainings, PV Ops Regional leadership team engagement opportunities, and guided preceptor coaching. In addition to individual department responsibilities, interns will be given the opportunity work on a comprehensive solution to a business problem facing Global Safety, PV Ops US & Regions. At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their findings and solutions to the Global Safety, PV Ops Leadership Team in an effort to be ambitious for patients so that they can do more, feel better, live longer.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a PharmD degree (ideal candidate has completed their 3rd year).
  • Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 12-week internship (May/June-August 2026).
  • Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the GS, PV Ops US & Regions team to support ongoing projects and the overall PV Ops Regions Strategic Framework.
  • Serve as GS, PV Ops US & Regions liaison responsible for developing processes and organizing operational problem solving strategies that matter most to safety worldwide.
  • Evaluate how regulatory differences impact GSK’s PV organization and support risk minimization efforts.
  • Understand the regulatory requirements for clinical trials and their interaction with pharmacovigilance.
  • Participate in other PV content development and creation of materials that feed into big picture PV plans.
  • Contribute to portions of operational planning (depending on timing of internship).
  • Assist with the planning and supporting of other GS, PV Ops US & Regions’ priority projects.

Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses.
