About The Position

FMI represents food retailers and wholesalers and develops and promotes policies, programs and forums supporting its members, their customers and supplier partners, and other industry stakeholders in the areas of government relations, food and product safety and defense, education, industry collaboration and networking, research, health and wellness, social, environmental and sustainability programs, and communications. By pursuing these activities, FMI provides leadership and advocacy for the food and consumer product industry worldwide as the industry innovates to meet the changing needs of its customers.

Requirements

• Relevant coursework in applicable area or field of study
• Computer and internet expertise with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong customer service and team orientation
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must be self-directed with excellent time and project management skills with an ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks with strict attention to detail and with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Assist with department-specific projects
• Participate with projects designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to department needs and area of study
• Interact with FMI colleagues to receive guidance, training and mentoring in planning and carrying out activities and assignments specific to day-to-day operations
• Other duties and projects as assigned or directed
