About The Position

The Underwriting, Home Office Intern will train with key team members to learn and participate in the process of underwriting and servicing of renewal accounts for the development and retention of Admiral business. This temporary based position requires strong analysis skills applied in learning the evaluation and pricing of Admiral renewal business in accordance with service standards, objectives, and following Admiral underwriting guidelines. The internship will also involve a collaborative group project with interns from other Admiral departments. Availability to work independently, both on a remote and potential on a hybrid-based in-person schedule through the summer months. Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support our business partners.

Requirements

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree with a focus in Risk Management and Insurance, or a related program/field preferred.
• GPA of 3.0 and above required.
• Rising Junior or Senior student is preferred.
• Interest in enhancing classroom learning through practical career-related work experience within the industry.
• Prior work experience is preferred.
• Career Interest in Underwriting/Excess and Surplus Lines.
• Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Benefits

• This is a 10-week, paid internship.
• Hourly rate based on a 37.5-hour work week is $25.00 an hour.
