About The Position

The Summer Internship Program at SOM offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in architecture, structural and sustainable engineering, urban planning, graphic design, or interior design. Interns will learn from experts across various design disciplines, enhance their design and visualization skills, and contribute to high-profile design projects. The program runs from June 9, 2025, to August 15, 2025, and emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and professional development.

Requirements

• Current student in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in structural engineering or a related field.
• Returning to school in the Fall of 2025.
• Exhibits initiative, problem-solving skills, and high attention to precision and accuracy.
• Able to follow instructions on timelines of deliverables and seek guidance when needed.
• Effectively communicates through written, oral, and visual means.
• Limited experience in structural analysis, drafting, and design development.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, specifically Sheets.
• Basic knowledge of ETABS, Revit, and Rhino/Grasshopper.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a wide range of in-person and virtual learning opportunities and events.
• Contribute to world-class design projects under the guidance of experienced professionals.
• Develop design and visualization skills through practical tasks and projects.

Benefits

• Compensation typically ranges from $28 to $30 per hour based on experience, qualifications, location, and education.
