About The Position

LTA Research and Exploration, an aerospace start-up, is seeking a motivated Software Intern to help build a revolutionary ‘lighter than air’ flight vehicle. You will be part of a dynamic engineering and design team to learn concepts of software development planning, conceptualizing, rapid prototyping, software design and development, testing, verification-validations while implementing innovative solutions for the design, fabrication, and assembly of large experimental flight vehicles. We believe in fast-cycle development and approach to flight systems development with the motto "build a little, test a little, learn a lot". This unique position allows hands-on learning and applying through all phases of development, from concept to flight of an experimental aerospace vehicle. We are seeking a high energy, passionate Software Intern to learn and further the development of software for various systems as well as actively test and validate rapidly developed software on the Airship.

Requirements

  • Junior or Senior year of BS in computer science, computer engineering or related field
  • Hands-on experience with one or more languages e.g. C, C++, Python, scripting, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with project design and development
  • Strong desire to understand and solve engineering problems

  • Willingness to learn and apply various concepts of software engineering development
  • Detail oriented and well organized with good communication skills
  • Self-Starter as well as a Team player, with a can-do attitude and a zeal to learn

Responsibilities

  • Learn & Support: planning activity of the software development
  • Software Requirements capture
  • Design and Development of software in conjunction with other systems testing to Verify & Validate concept, repeatability and reliability on the Airship.
  • the development of Flight Simulator software
  • creating documentation through various development phases and test reports
  • Learn Software Development Tools and Software Configuration Management Tools
  • Learn & Apply Principles of Software Coding-Implementation in C, C++, Python, Scripting, etc.
  • Software Processes and Industry Best Practices working as an Individual Contributor as well as working in a team environment
  • Support Software Engineering team-members and related activities as and when required
