Summer Intern/Responsible AI Agents
About The Position
Join the Responsible AI (RAI) Agents team for a Summer Internship dedicated to improving the reliability of AI-for-Science workflows. In this role, you will collaborate with our researchers and engineers to conduct an empirical study on how task complexity influences the performance and potential failure modes of AI agents. You will help define and analyze key metrics — ranging from structural plan features to semantic context—to identify what makes a task challenging for current systems. This internship provides a balance of research and practical application within a global enterprise, offering the chance to work with advanced AI infrastructure and contribute a technical blog post detailing your findings to our RAI community.
Requirements
- Pursuing a BS degree in Computer Science, Data Science or similar discipline.
- Experience with Python programming.
- Must be able to work full-time (35–40 hours per week) throughout the duration of the 10- 12‑week internship (May/June ~ August 2026).
- Must have active student status and/or be within 12 months post‑graduation from a BS or MS degree program.
- Post‑doctoral candidates are not eligible.
- Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in linguistics.
- Experience with LLMs and/or LLM-based agents.

Benefits
- Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role , and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend.
- This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses.
