About The Position

About the People Inc. Summer Internship Program: The People Inc. Summer Internship Program is a 9 week full time, paid program that runs from June 9th - August 8th, based out of our New York office. The intern program consists of hands-on learning opportunities to create work that has an impact on the business, along with workshops in preparing you for post-college life (resume / interviewing) plus fun events throughout the summer! Eligibility Requirements: Internships are available to current Juniors and Seniors at an accredited college or university You must be available to work full time for the entire 9 weeks of the program in the NY office, 3 days a week You must have access to your own housing and transportation to/from the NY office About the Role: The QA intern will work with the QA leads/managers in modifying STLC processes and maintain high quality work products while accelerating delivery. You'll participate in and help fine tune a delivery focused development culture that champions collaboration, innovative thinking, and technical excellence, while maintaining a foundation of work/life balance.

Requirements

  • Strong programming fundamentals in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Java.
  • Basic experience with or understanding of test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
  • Familiarity with software testing concepts (e.g., test case writing, bug reporting, test planning).
  • Interest in or exposure to AI/ML concepts, particularly in software quality or automation.
  • Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Good communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

  • Experience with Python

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with QA engineers, developers and Stackholders to understand product requirements and technical designs.
  • Write and maintain automated test cases using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java.
  • Assist with API testing and integration validation using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
  • Contribute to continuous integration pipelines and support integration of test automation into CI/CD workflows.
  • Leverage AI-assisted QA tools to enhance automation coverage and efficiency (e.g., test case generation, visual testing).
  • Conduct exploratory and regression testing; log clear, actionable bugs using tools like Jira.
  • Continuously learn and apply QA best practices, automation patterns, and software testing principles.
