About The Position

DSG is seeking an Operations and Sales Intern in our Fargo, ND location. This 11-week summer internship program is a great opportunity to learn how to effectively promote products and services to businesses in the region by gaining direct experience in both operational support and sales via exposure to business operations and the sales cycle. As an Operations and Sales Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the ND Region sales teams by assisting with various operational, customer service, and sales tasks. The role will include conducting market research, identifying potential leads, helping to build customer relationships, and supporting the team in the sales process. Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a college or university taking at least six credits during either the spring or summer 2026 semesters; program of study must be related to Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Distribution, Operations Management, Logistics, or another related field.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills across a variety of settings (in-person, phone, and email).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, paired with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong interest in operations management and sales
  • Superior problem solving, project management, and analytical skills.
  • A proactive customer service mindset.
  • The ability to plan, prioritize and organize work effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A knack for quick learning and adaptability in changing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in operational tasks as needed, including inventory management and logistical support.
  • Assist in order fulfillment efficiency by tracking orders, coordinating with warehouse teams, and ensuring timely delivery to customers.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist the sales team in the sales process through the preparation of sales presentations, customer inquiry responses, and processing of sales orders.
  • Help build and maintain customer relationships through effective communication.
  • Learn and apply effective techniques to promote products and services to businesses in the region.
  • Gather and analyze competitor market data to understand industry trends and competitor activity.
  • Identify new business opportunities to improve sales performance and operations efficiency.
  • Maintain effective communication and provide excellent customer service to customers.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist in handling customer orders and processing sales transactions.
  • Support the team in managing customer feedback and addressing concerns.
