Paid Internships at Production Resource Group are educational work experiences for individuals who wish to explore a career with PRG and/or develop hands-on knowledge and skill in the business of entertainment technology. PRG provides structured yet flexible programs where interns rotate through the various functions of a particular discipline, giving them a comprehensive overview of the different aspects of the field. The initial 12 week Summer Program runs approximately Mid to late May- Beg/Mid-August (dates may vary)

Requirements

  • Must be attentive and willing to learn new skills and processes above and beyond their area of expertise.
  • Strong communication skills, motivated and punctual.
  • Ability to work in emails, computers is a must
  • May perform other incidental tasks, as needed.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or higher-level degree program in theatre or entertainment
  • Have experience with technology specializing in any of our disciplines or a complementary field
  • Have received an appropriate degree within the past two years
  • Have appropriate background in the entertainment technology industry
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time .
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects

Nice To Haves

  • Previous knowledge, training, schooling, or experience in: Audio, Lighting, A/V, Video, LED, Rigging, Media Servers, or other entertainment fields of expertise Is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience in the technical and operational aspects of our business.
  • Rotate throughout the National Western Center, Denver Facility for cross training requirements of the location to gain experience in several departments and various equipment. Departments may include Lighting, LED, Audio, Video, Monitors, Screens, Projection, as well as Crew scheduling and attending potential client walkthroughs
  • Learn how our operations manager and sales team manage the workflow
  • Receive an in-depth understanding throughout the National Western Center
  • Gain knowledge of production equipment through processes such as check in/out, prepping, kitting, and organizing equipment
  • Learn best practices, tips, and tricks from experienced technicians in lighting, video, and audio, as they work as a team to prep a show for the National Western Center, including tasks such as assembling truss, hanging all types of lighting, reading lighting plots and paperwork, addressing and labeling units, running power and data cables, working with power distribution and networking equipment, and troubleshooting.
