About The Position

The Medical Affairs Advanced Analytics Intern will be responsible for enhancing two existing analytical models: Converting a currently static model that clusters customers into distinct segments into a dynamic model that routinely measures customer shifts in segments over time with a high degree of accuracy. The model must include a means for ascertaining model fit over time, to identify vulnerabilities in the model which will require adjustment to maintain high degree of accuracy. Converting a currently static pathway model into a flexible pathway model where channel engagements can be updated with new data sources as they become available.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Business Analytics, Statistics, Data Scientist, or similar disciplines.
  • Analytical abilities – familiarity with languages (Python/SQL) to quickly parse large datasets to identify insights, issues, or trends.
  • Experience with advanced modeling techniques and modeling such as Logistic Regressions, Random Forest, and XGBoost. Understanding of Structural Equation Modeling for pathway/channel analysis.
  • Must be able to work full-time (35–40 hours per week) throughout the duration of the 12‑week internship (May/June ~ August 2026).
  • Must have active student status and/or be within 12 months post‑graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post‑doctoral candidates are not eligible.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check prior to assignment target start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity for Generative AI technology, to ascertain how unstructured text can be incorporated into the models.
  • Excellent communications skills—position will communicate across several business areas and levels, and must be comfortable with reducing complexity of technical answers to straight-forward language.
  • Focus on problem solving – position will face a variety of challenges that will require unique solutions.

Benefits

  • While GSK embraces a flexible work environment, we do require certain positions to be onsite. Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend. This is a one-time payment to help offset housing & relocation expenses. Please refer to the position details for the requirements of each position.
