As a mechanical engineering intern at AD Systems, you’ll work with cross functional teams on all aspects of our product life cycles from new product development, product sustaining and value engineering to manufacturability and product quality. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

  • Work with product development teams to gain an understanding of our products
  • Use mechanical design and analysis tools to assist the R&D team with new product concepting, development, and execution
  • Learn about all aspects of product testing through experience including: Industry standards that drive testing requirements Destructive product performance testing Reliability calculations and test methods
  • Learn manufacturing and assembly processes through interfacing with our manufacturing engineering team
  • Obtain the experience to create a foundation for growth and future opportunities with Allegion
  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
  • Junior year must be complete by the start of the summer internship program for undergraduate candidates.
  • Minimum 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative (e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc. or exceptional leadership on school/work projects).
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with complex data
  • Ability to work in both a team and individual setting.
  • Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly.
  • Effective listening, time management and creative problem-solving techniques
  • A desire to learn, grow and develop by working on projects that will impact Allegion’s business and customers
  • AutoCAD and Inventor experience is recommended but not required
