The Manufacturing Process Engineer Summer Intern will join a team of Manufacturing Engineers supporting the daily operations of a high-mix commercial door lock manufacturing facility in Colorado Springs, CO. This role will offer early career experience and real-world applications of engineering principles and problem-solving techniques. Ideal candidates for this role will have strong mechanical aptitude and an ability to learn complex product assembly processes while identifying deficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

  • Contribute to improvement projects to achieve financial productivity goals
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of mixed-model assembly processes
  • Assist in the development of process documentation and its utilization by manufacturing operations
  • Design basic mechanical components/assemblies for work holding and fixturing
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process failures
  • Assist in capital equipment requisition and installation
  • Identify opportunities for safety and quality improvements
  • Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering degree path
  • Mechanical design aptitude
  • PTC Creo or equivalent solid modeling design software experience
  • Personal time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with time and resource constraints
  • Strong teamwork and internal customer-relation skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication at all levels
  • Ability to work both independently and within teams
  • Effective data collection, analysis, interpretation, and resulting decision-making
