About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering and contribute meaningfully to operational excellence. In this role you will be responsible for various continuous improvement projects including workbench/workstation design standardization, ergonomic assembly analysis, and creating visualization and dashboards of key business metrics. In addition, the intern will be assigned improvement projects in one or more assembly departments.

Requirements

  • We are looking for students currently enrolled in a degree program for Engineering, Operations, Business or a related field
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt in our environment and change priorities quickly if assembly needs dictate
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people and functions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with computer systems and effectively leverage spreadsheet and database technologies
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Knowledgeable in MS Suites including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Must be available 12-15 weeks

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of and ability to successfully apply Six Sigma tools and methodology is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing CAD software to design or modify tooling and fixtures
  • Risk evaluation and heat mapping of key assembly processes within plant
  • Collecting and analyzing production data to support decision making
  • Continuous improvement projects to improve safety, quality, and/or reduce cost of the assembly process
