About The Position

This is a summer internship in our manufacturing engineering department. The intern will study the machine processes of detail part creation as well as the supporting activities: material supply chain, load forecasting, quality assurance, etc. The intern will propose processes to allow for agile part manufacturing on multiple machines.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university seeking an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or other engineering related field.
• Must be at least a sophomore status.
• Strong capability to analyze and make synthesis.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, CATIA V5, or similar).
• Strong communication skills, written and oral and the ability to create and clearly present new ideas or concepts.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or other engineering major preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate an understanding of the aircraft component production processes for detailed parts.
• Identify parts manufacturing that will require new universal holding fixtures.
• Propose processes to allow for agile manufacturing that are acceptable to quality assurance and supply chain tools and processes.
