About The Position

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties, locations, and responsibilities performed by incumbent(s) in this job. This job description is not a “contract” between the employee and the Authority. The job duties and essential functions may be changed at the discretion of the General Manager. The Summer Intern, Linear Asset Management will assist with QA/QC inspections and data analysis related to sewer systems. The intern will work with inspection equipment, software, and conduct condition assessments. At DC Water, we provide more than 700,000 District of Columbia residents and 24.6 million annual visitors with essential water, wastewater, and stormwater services. DC Water also provides wholesale wastewater treatment services for 1.8 million people in Montgomery and Prince George's counties in Maryland, and Fairfax and Loudoun counties in Virginia. Requirements

  • Basic experience with Microsoft programs.
  • Must be currently enrolled fulltime in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Must have at least 30 credit hours complete
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft programs.
  • Preferred Major: Civil or Environmental Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with sewer inspections and data entry.
  • Perform condition assessments and analyze data.
  • Prepare inspection reports and data logs.
  • Performance of assignments under the direct supervision of a department lead
  • Performance of other work-related duties as needed
