If you are looking for a career in construction, we are offering paid summer internships in our Landscape Division. Candidates will preferably be enrolled in a Landscape themed academic program. Our Summer Internship Program is very learning intensive, so students can expect to do challenging work and to engage in activities that will broaden their awareness of the great career opportunities in heavy civil construction and with Griffith Company.

Requirements

  • Students must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Design, Landscape Horticulture, or Ornamental Horticulture.

Responsibilities

  • Perform job site administration and documentation (under supervision).
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule.
  • Track submittals, RFI’s and contract change orders, daily cost vs. project budget, quantities and equipment and project logs.
  • Attend bid review meetings with estimating team to understand the estimate process.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, soils reports and existing site conditions to determine scope of work.
  • Complete material and quantity take offs according to project scope of work.
  • Assist superintendent and foreman with layout and other technical requirements.
  • Assist with diesel emissions control plans and monitoring.
  • Preparation of work plans and or storm water protection plans.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
