About The Position

The John F. Kennedy (JFK) Redevelopment Program is delivering a world-class airport designed to meet the region’s future demand, with JFK projected to serve up to 100 million passengers annually by 2050. This $19 billion program encompasses the planning, design, financing, and construction of modernized terminals, airside and landside infrastructure, utilities, roadways, bridges, parking, the AirTrain system, cargo facilities, and airport fueling systems. Engineering Aid interns will support this complex, multi-stakeholder program by gaining exposure to airport infrastructure development, data analysis, and coordination across technical and community-focused teams. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn how large-scale transportation infrastructure projects are planned and delivered through both traditional and innovative procurement methods.

Requirements

  • Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship
  • Majors in Engineering, Construction, Aviation, or a related discipline

Nice To Haves

  • Rising sophomore, junior or senior
  • Ability to conduct research, review documentation, and prepare clear summary reports
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in major infrastructure or redevelopment programs
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Review designs for consistency with Requirements for Performance of Work (RPW)
  • Review Operational Readiness Activation and Transition (ORAT) plans
  • Support the Redevelopment team with implementation and tracking of ongoing progress
