About The Position

The Summer Intern in the Innovation Unit of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will assist in developing and executing innovative pilot projects aimed at enhancing the agency's operations. This role involves collaboration with subject matter experts and project managers to ideate and implement projects related to autonomous vehicles, drones, sustainability, and AI, while also providing clerical support to further the agency's mission.

Requirements

• Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
• Major in Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Political Science, Public Administration, Transportation, or a related discipline
• Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with project management and design
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Interest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey region
• Interest in public service and/or transportation

Responsibilities

• Assist in innovative projects deployed through the agency's Innovation Hub
• Further the Port Authority's work around autonomous vehicles, drones, sustainability, and AI
• Develop pilot projects and assist project managers in executing innovation projects
• Perform clerical duties related to furthering the agency's mission
