About The Position

Join our dynamic team as a Temporary Summer Intern, where you'll gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional setting. Illinois CancerCare has student summer intern positions available in the Informatics department. Interested students will work up to 20 hours per week for 6 to 8 weeks. Our summer internship program is designed to give high school, undergraduate and medical school students a chance to gain experience in a healthcare facility. Pay: $15.00/hr. Illinois CancerCare offers the following benefits for temporary employees, subject to eligibility requirements: 401(k) retirement plan, Employee Assistance Program; & paid leave accrual (if applicable).

Requirements

  • High school student or college student.
  • Currently pursuing or general interest in computer science, data science, information technology, healthcare informatics, or a related field.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Highly organized. Attention to detail and accuracy a must.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribe data from one chart in an EMR to the corresponding chart in another EMR.
  • Assist in gathering and entering data into databases or software systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
